Our Four Programs Reach and Serve Every Age Group

Through our cradle-to-career programs at each stage of a young person’s development, OP offers seeded colleges savings accounts (529 CSAs), Oakland Promise scholarships (2-4 year college scholarships), financial guidance, college-going culture programming, mentorship and advising to support students to attain their college and career dreams.

Brilliant Baby

Brilliant Baby supports parents with a new baby during the first critical years of their child’s development. We offer resources for parents that reduce financial stress and inspire excitement for their child’s college future. Each Brilliant Baby receives a 529 College Savings Account.

Kindergarten to College

Oakland Promise Kindergarten to College (K2C) helps each elementary school student in Oakland think of themselves as a college-bound individual. We provide an Oakland Promise Scholarship, offer incentives to open a family-owned College Savings Account (CSA) and implement college & career programming.

Our vision is for every middle and high school student to have access to personalized scholarships, college and financial aid application support and resources to set them on a path to college & career success.

College Completion

Currently, fewer than 500 (about 10%) Oakland public school 12th graders graduate from a 2 or 4-year college within 6 years of high school graduation each year. We provide scholarship distribution, mentorship, advising, community resources and college persistent support so students can succeed.
