Oakland Promise is thrilled to announce that Anne Campbell Washington, Senior Assistant Dean at UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, has joined our board. Anne’s distinguished career in public service and academic leadership makes her a valuable addition.

Anne has served as a City Councilmember and Vice Mayor of Oakland, a District 4 School Board Member, and held key roles such as Chief of Staff to Mayors Jerry Brown and Jean Quan. Her dedication to community empowerment and education aligns with Oakland Promise’s mission to create paths for economic upward mobility for Oakland’s youth.

Oakland Promise believes that opportunity changes everything. Our vision is for all young people in Oakland to have the education, opportunities, and sense of belonging necessary for prosperous lives. We partner with students, families, schools, and the community to build financial pathways supporting educational and career achievements through programs offering financial guidance, mentorship, and scholarships.

Anne’s addition comes as Oakland Promise enhances community engagement and support systems for our youth. Her leadership will drive our mission forward. Welcome, Anne, to the Oakland Promise family!
