We offer every child financial resources, educational programming, mentorship, and a supportive community to help them and their families seek out and thrive in higher education and the career of their choosing. OP achieves its work through four key programs: Brilliant Baby, Kindergarten to College, College Access, and College Completion and serves as a convener and grantmaker for local community organizations to achieve collective impact.

Position Summary

The Impact & Evaluation Coordinator will report to the Impact & Evaluation Manager. This role will support the Manager in data gathering, research design, and data analysis for evaluation projects, community partnership data, and collective impact data including city and federal grant reporting. The Coordinator will also assist in the development and use of the Partnership Management Module and Partnership Portal on Salesforce, provide technical assistance to community partners and subcontractors, and contribute to data collection and analysis for reports and deliverables.

What You Will Do (Duties and Responsibilities)

1.  Support evaluation projects

  • Assist the Manager in data gathering, research design, and data analysis for evaluation projects, community partnership data, and collective impact data including city and federal grant reporting.
  • Contribute to data collection and analysis for reports to major initiatives, including Oakland Children’s Initiative, Promise Neighborhoods, and others aligned with the Director of Impact & Evaluation’s strategic evaluation strategy.

2. Partnership Management

  • Support the development and use of the Partnership Management Module and Partnership Portal on Salesforce to track and analyze data from our community partners.
  • Provide technical assistance to partners and subcontractors as needed.

3. Reporting and deliverables

  • Assist in preparing data and analyses for key deliverables, including the annual Scholar Report, Results-based Accountability metrics Report, Community Briefing, and Annual Report.
  • Support the team’s data visualization activities using tools such as R, Tableau, and others.

4. Process documentation

  • Document recurring processes and procedures in the Data Policies and Procedures Handbook.

5. Event participation

  • Attend and participate in Oakland Promise meetings.
  • Participate in one fall and one spring event, such as the Oakland Promise Awards Ceremony,  as well as all other mandatory events.

  • Proficiency in CRM and data analysis tools such as R, Tableau, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortability with and interest in the real-world complexity of non-profit data. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • 1 year of demonstrated data analysis experience (in school or professional)
  • Experience with data analysis in one of: R/Stata/Python/SAAS. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in a related field.
  • Proficiency with data analysis in one of: R/Stata/Python/SAAS
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems. 
  • 3+ years of professional experience with:
    • Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, R)
    • Research design
    • Program evaluation
    • Nonprofit or community-based organizations

Compensation and Benefits

  • Full time exempt position.
  • Salary range for this position is $70-80k , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Oakland Promise currently has a hybrid work policy. Employees work in the downtown Oakland office 3 days/week.
