The Advising Team provides Scholars with college advising services and share campus-specific resources to support each Scholar’s well being and development. Whether it be emotional distress, confusion over financial aid, or questions relating to their academic trajectory, Advisors are there to assess our Scholars’ needs and connect them to the resources that help them thrive.

Election Day is November 3rd! 

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020. All of California’s registered voters will be mailed a ballot no later than 29 days prior to Election Day. Early voting and in-person voting locations will also be available to voters.

UC and CSU Transfer Applications Are Open!


The UC application is now available.

  • Starting October 1, 2020, the UC application will be available
  • The application submission period is November 1, 2020 – November 30, 2020

The CSU application is now available

  • The priority application submission period is ​October 1, 2020 – November 30, 2020

2021-2022 FAFSA and Dream Act Applications NOW OPEN! 


In order to receive Financial Aid for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 academic year, you must apply for FAFSA or DREAM Act. Need support completing your FAFSA or DREAM Act? Reach out to us at [email protected] to schedule a check-in with your Advisor.

Receiving your Scholarship Check!


Scholar Doc submission is NOW CLOSED! If your scholar docs were approved you will be getting your scholarship check! To ensure the health and safety of both our Scholars and Staff, all scholarship checks will be mailed. After completing all the Scholarship Acceptance forms, you will receive an email notification that your check has been mailed between 9/14/20 – 9/25/20. Please allow 7-10 business days for your check to arrive.

Class of 2020: Need a laptop for college? 


Are you going to community college or a 4-year and need access to the internet or laptop? Class of 2020 OUSD is giving away FREE hotspots and laptops for you to have and keep for college. Your hotspot will be good for two years and all you have to do is email [email protected]!

Thank you to the graduates and mentors who attended our very first virtual ceremony. Some of our graduation highlights included speeches from 2015 Scholar Brandon Oliver who graduated from Howard University and 2016 Scholar Cierra Cryer who graduated from UC Davis. We are inspired by your resilience and leadership. In the midst of a global and racist pandemic, you’ve shown grit and determination to succeed.
