The mission of Oakland Promise (OP) is to engage the Oakland community to advance equity and economic mobility through cradle-to-career educational opportunities. Founded in 2016, Oakland Promise is a citywide movement with over 50 implementation partners working towards our shared vision. Oakland Promise supports children and families from birth through college and career to ensure that postsecondary success is a reality for all Oaklanders. Oakland Promise includes four programs: Brilliant Baby, Kindergarten to College (K2C), Future Centers, and College Scholarships and Completion, that provide a cradle to career continuum of college-focused supports for students. Our goal is to dramatically increase the number of college graduates from Oakland and ensure that all students hold a college-bound identity. Job Purpose

Oakland Promise seeks a detail-oriented and collaborative coordinator with excellent organizational, communication, and systems management skills and a passion for expanding opportunities for Oakland children and families. The Partnerships & Outreach Coordinator will be a part of an innovative and dynamic team tasked with streamlining stakeholders (partners, mentors, and scholars) outreach efforts to create more visibility for OP programs, resources, and partnerships at scale. The team works to create cohesive and collaborative systems to generate internal and external efficiencies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support partnership development and management in alignment with the growing College Access (CA)and College Completion (CC) programs and OP as an organization
  • Coordinate volunteer opportunities in support of OP program implementation.
  • Collaborate with programs to coordinate informational sessions on opportunities and resources for OP’s target demographics
  • Create and edit digital content for program outreach and informational materials
  • Support management resource-sharing systems between programs, including making website updates, newsletters, and social media content
  • Support the increase of partnership value by analyzing metrics, develop engagement plans and sharing highlights with CA and CC programs
  • Support cross communication between programs regarding career development and professional development opportunities for OP’s target demographic
  • Attend community engagement events and meetings to network and build relationships with schools, higher educational institutions, and organizations supporting education
  • Provide programmatic support in the planning and implementation of events for CC and CC programs
  • Other duties assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for OP’s target demographics
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Deep commitment to and passion for the vision of the Oakland Promise
  • Proficiency in GSuite/Microsoft, Canva, WordPress, Campaign Monitor, & Salesforce preferred 
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to operate effectively with limited direct management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous partnerships and outreach experience
  • Proficient with Salesforce Databases
  • Experience with Canva or other graphics programs
  • Experience in the fields of education, partnerships, college access or college success
  • Knowledge of and connections to Oakland communities


  • Full-time exempt position

  • Some evening and weekend hours may be required
