Job Title: Middle School Program Associate, Kindergarten to College 

Reports to: MS Program Manager, Kindergarten to College 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  1. Kindergarten to College middle school programming implementation: 
  2. Create, drive and organize K2C programming to reach program goals, supporting our middle schoolers on their journey to post-secondary and beyond 
  3. Student lessons and family workshops: High school readiness indicators, A-G requirements, high school options, post secondary awareness, and building a college & career-going identity 
  4. Coordinate/facilitate career panels 

iii. Create awareness around OP Scholarship supports 

  1. Ensure alignment with elementary school and college access programming b. Conduct site visits – in-person or virtual – to continue to cultivate relationships with K2C school-based teams 
  2. Communicate cross-organizational events, community resources and all opportunities that pertain to our middle schoolers and their families 
  3. Implement CEP middle school curriculum with additional community partner participation and curriculum, 
  4. General Program Support: 
  5. Support with updating and creating K2CMiddle School content and curriculum development, ranging from student-facing to family-facing materials 
  6. Support planning and implementation of elementary programming 
  7. Capture, maintain and communicate impact: 
  8. Manage middle school monthly newsletter: create content, visuals, update and disperse to all partner schools, families and community partners 
  9. Create and share Middle School content for social media (as needed) 
  10. Maintain accurate and updated school records – logging, tracking and analyzing school cohort data regularly 
  11. Communications 
  12. Develop program marketing materials and other relevant content 
  13. Support with community partnerships, as needed, 
  14. Support with K2C partner school after school programs to support middle school program goals 
  15. Innovation & Other 
  16. Engage in virtual facilitation and responsibilities if needed 


  1. Research CSAs, college-going culture and other content to incorporate into K2C programming 
  2. Create opportunities for internal and external feedback to improve K2C’s community impact, specifically with an equity lens for our Black/African American families d. Foster collaboration, honesty, trust and belonging for all K2C team members e. Be a team player and support with general Oakland Promise programming f. 
  3. Other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Deep commitment to educational equity 
  • Sound understanding of racial/wealth inequities and profound dedication to implementing equitable and accessible programming 
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to details, and ability to manage multiple competing deadlines required 
  • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills 
  • Some evening and weekend hours will be required 
  • Own vehicle/transportation for travel to sites 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Ability to communicate in another language other than English 
  • Experience creating and modifying training materials 
  • Experience in education, direct experiences in schools with students, families and community preferred 
  • Management, education policy and/or teaching experience preferred
