Amanda Feinstein is the Mayor’s Office lead responsible for setting up the college savings programs of Oakland Promise. Amanda leads the design, implementation and evaluation of Brilliant Baby – a new initiative opening college savings accounts for babies in our most economically vulnerable families and supporting parents to improve their families’ economic well-being. She also leads work to develop the college savings account infrastructure for Brilliant Baby and Kindergarten to College. Amanda has 30 year experience working to advance economic equity and opportunity in the Bay Area, holding leadership positions in philanthropy, nonprofits and government. Prior to joining the Oakland Promise, she spent 13 years as a Senior Program Officer for Economic Security at the Walter and Elise Haas Fund. Amanda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Antioch College and Master in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.
